How to kill weeds between cracks in the pavement the organic way
It’s the time of year when things are cropping up all over the place, even where you don’t want them to. Here are some green ways to kill weeds that sprout up in sidewalk cracks or on your patio. Avoid using pesticides that wash directly into waterways and try one of these eco-friendly solutions:
1. The simplest and cheapest option is to pour boiling water on the weeds. This method is pretty inefficient on garden beds but it can work in smaller areas like the sidewalk. Sometimes it takes two or three tries to get the weeds out for good so the next time you have boiling water left over from cooking, consider pouring it outside on those unwanted plants. Just pour the water slowly and close to the weed and that should do the trick.

2. Spray the weeds with a vinegar and water solution. Use mostly vinegar (which burns the plant) with a little bit of water and re-apply as necessary.
3. There’s also a salt-vinegar-soap solution that could help. Get the recipe here.
